All the timber we use is either reclaimed from old homes and factories, or sustainably-forested with minimal environmental impact.
We love and respect where we live as much as the next person, and do our best to ensure all our practices are as earth-friendly as possible.
Due to the nature of timber as an organic material, timber tone, feature and grain may vary from piece to piece.
All our custom timber furniture pieces are designed and made in Melbourne. Our workshop is situated right behind the great barn doors in our East Brunswick showroom. Feel free to ask us about our processes or even to take a peek at the workshop.
Absolutely. More details about our delivery and freight options in and outside of Melbourne can be found here.
To make it easier for freight and access to our home, some of our pieces may come to you flat packed. No fear, our timber furniture is easy to put together, usually with a standard ratchet or allen key.
If assistance with assembly is required, we can organise to send one of our friendly staff over to help assemble for an additional fee.
We generally have a 6-8 week lead time to completion. Need your furniture sooner than that? Contact us! We are sometimes able to shuffle our production schedule to allow for rush or urgent orders.
We accept payment by bank transfer and credit cards. Please note that credit card payments will incur a 3% surcharge which is unfortunately out of our control.
Our payment terms are 50% on commencement and 50% on completion. You will receive an email and the balance 50% invoice as your furniture is about a week off completion. The balance invoice is due prior to pick-up or delivery.
We pride ourselves in using the highest grade timber and techniques to will ensure a lifetime of use. We offer five year structural warranty on all our furniture pieces. Timber is, however, an organic material that is responsive to environmental changes, particularly with humidity and light. We are therefore unable to warrant any related issues that may cause cupping, splitting and discolouration. We are unable to warrant any misuse of the piece (like exposure to moisture or damage by pets or children) that would cause burns, scratches or chips to the surface.
To make sure your furniture remains in as good a nick as when it left our workshop, refer to our care information here.
Our recycled timber furniture is finished with a natural hard wax oil for a clean, satin-matt finish. This finish is extremely tough and hard-wearing; water-repellent and dirt-resistant. It is also very reparable, which might come handy over years of use.
The finish we use is natural and based on vegetable oils and waxes so you can be sure that our dining tables are food-safe and non-toxic. Read more here.
While the finish is durable enough to last years, we do recommend proper care for all our recycled timber furniture pieces.
Exposure to sunlight may alter the patina of your furniture over time, so we recommend avoiding direct exposure. Try not to drag unglazed ceramics, or sharp objects on the face of your furniture, and the rule of thumb for heat is that if it's too hot to touch, you should use a trivet. Read more here.
We also stock a liquid wax cleaner spray made up of the the same base ingredients to refresh the original finish.
We work hard to ensure that our products are of optimum quality, inside and out. All our hardware has been extensively stress tested in-house to ensure longevity.
We use quality European-made Blum hardware for all our drawers; bathroom vanities, entertainment units, bedside tables - you name it!
The Tandem concealed runner system for wooden drawers has a feather-light glide and brings enhanced user convenience to the entire home. The comprehensive Tandem programme has the right solution for every item of furniture. Even heavily laden pull-outs have a feather-light glide and extremely good sag values.
We use quality Australian-made hardware on all our recycled timber beds. The hardware provides a sturdy and secure locking system to give you a peaceful, squeak-free night's sleep.
Feel free to contact us if you have further questions about the hardware we use.
Timber is an organic material and will naturally need a little bit more care than, say, a stone bench top. However, our sealing and finishing processes have been thoroughly stress tested to ensure stability and longevity. See basic care notes above or read more about our finish here.
Still not convinced? We also offer a stone top option with our timber vanities! Get in touch if you had more questions about this.
